Global Invisible University | Fall Semester 2026

The Global Invisible University (GIU) is inviting applications for the 2026 Fall Semester. GIU is a non-degree educational program supporting students and scholars living under war, authoritarianism, political repression, and displacement. It builds on the success of the Invisible University for Ukraine and expands regional branches for Georgia, Belarus, and Southeastern Europe. The program is aimed at matriculated students, from undergraduate to postgraduate level, residing in their home countries or in exile or displacement.

Participation in the programme is free of charge.

The programme language of instruction is English; small group work and mentoring sessions may be facilitated in languages of the students. The GIU program also offers a choice to participate in the Academic English classes.

Research scholarships of up to €800 per semester are available on a competitive basis for students who meet the eligibility requirements of each GIU branch and wish to implement a special empirical or theoretical project in addition to their coursework. Applicants should include a concise project proposal of 400–800 words.

Selected eligible students will have an opportunity to attend an in-person Winter School program.
